German Fan Fest
The massive 600 square meter pavilion on 555 Water Street is finally taking shape as organizers make their final preparations in hosting one of Vancouver most lively parties. Dubbed the “German Fan Festival”, the Gastown Blog team expects this to be a major attraction. Especially when they’re serving a potent mix of “Thüringer Rostbrätl” (special flavoured pork chop), Brutwurst, and Bavarian beer topped with live music and Olympic games on TV.
The event is hosted by the Thuringian Sports and German Olympics Association. People from all over the world can join together with German athletes and supporters in celebration of their country and Olympic victories. The German Fan Fest begins on Feb 11th and ends on the 28th. In that time, people may eat, drink, and dance to live music by Acoustica. Admission is free from 10 am to 5 pm, however; from 6 pm to 2 am there will be a cover charge (not too much we hope!). This event is definitely one you must visit.

I saw Acoustica in SLC 02 and it was one of the funnest nights of my life partying with Gold Medalists with Thuringen beer and brauts.

Is it cheaper for german passport holders? Or can they skip the line or something?
Will Latvians be invited?!
will they have to wait in a longer line up or pay more?
I’m practising drinking beer right now!
I visited the German Fan Fest today. I arrived in the line at 3pm and was inside by 3.45. Not too bad. I chatted with the crowd and everybody seemed to be in a good mood. The line grew quickly though, so I recommend you come at least an hour before you intend to get in. Probably double that in the evening. Take a look at my short video to see my experience:http://gobart.tv/2010/02/15/german-fan-fest-pavilion/
