There is another great event going on in Gastown! Don’t forget to mark your calendar for Sunday, September 20 2009 for the Gastown Blues and Chili Festival!
Gastown Blues and Chili Fest
The event will start at 12:00 pm and go until 7:00 pm featuring great musicians such as Jim Byrnes, Steve Kozak’s West Coast Blues Review, Mud Bay Blues Band, The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer, Ronnie Hayward, David Gates and Stompin Hot Jazz Band.
In addition, the Chili Cook-off will feature 20 of Gastown’s best restaurants. There will be fun and games for the whole family, so don’t forget to bring your own spoon and save the date!

Great competition! I guess attendance exceeded expectations as a number of the competitors were out of chili before the 3:00pm cutoff for judging.
The beer garden was rather sad — more of a chicken coop than a garden. Hopefully, next year’s setup will be more conducive to relaxing. How about just fencing off the entire block? Of course, need to work with the other businesses that don’t have access via Water or Cordova to get their buy-in…
