This week, the GastownBlog team met up with native art-carver Gerry Sheena from the Hill’s Native Art to checkout his latest work.
This week, the GastownBlog team had the opportunity to turn one of its members into a full fledged vampire. Up to the task was creative editor Tony Insua while Sarah Norris-Jones, a recent grad from John Casablanca, would be doing the makeup. “I have a general vision in mind, but today I’m just going with the flow and seeing where the look takes me”, Sarah told me as I sat down in-front of a mirror at the special effects studio at JCI.
It was a packed room inside Gastown’s Landing Building on Friday night, as BootUp Entrepreneurial Society held its 9th Demo Camp event. Entrepreneurs, tech wizards, media masters, and early staged investors squished together to listen to Mike Lee with Rogers Ventures and others talk about technology and emerging companies out of Vancouver. It was an insightful and satisfying night that still has the GastownBlog team excited about Vancouver’s vibrant tech community.
