Vancouver 2010 is right around the corner. While there’s so much focus on the winter sports, let’s not forget other fun activities that are happening here in Gastown. Amongst the Olympic-frenzy that will overtake the city, ArtWalk Vancouver 2010 will also open its doors to display the amazing contemporary arts that we have here in Vancouver.
Pioneered by the ArtWalk Vancouver Society, the ArtWalk was founded to provide a platform to promote and aid visual artists in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, Chinatown and Gastown community. Their mission is to present an annual event of the highest standard for the enrichment of cultural life in Vancouver.
With their ArtWalk ‘Pop Up’ galleries, they are planning to bring interrogative contemporary artists into public space, expanding the traditional concepts of where art belongs and its functional and active possibilities. You are invited to explore the galleries, retail spaces, studios and temporary “pop up” galleries involved and to see the work of over 250 artists from a full spectrum of disciplines.
Having said so, checkout the stores and art galleries that are going to participate in this awesome event:
