Gastown’s shops are filled with rare finds and unique treasures, especially when hunting for elusive labels and highly sought after accessories. This week one of our favorite shops: The Block, which also happens to be the only stockist of Wendy Nichol in Western Canada; has received some amazing new pieces from the New York based designer. Including one very special pony-haired handbag.
Gastown’s latest shop by Walter Manning and girlfriend Savannah Olsen Old Faithful is just that. Stocked with a carefully edited collection of classic and well-made items, by unique manufacturers with history and craftsmanship at the helm of their appeal. The shop is somewhat of a well-stocked general store with a modern twist.
Sale Alert! This Saturday, Gastown’s own Ishara is having Friends & Family Sale with 30-80% off on their fashion collections, in addition with their under-$100 denim rack. That’s awesome! Especially when brands like Rich and Skinny, Smythe, Kasil, Tibi (and many more) go on for sale.

Located at 238 Abbott Street in the heart of Gastown, Revel is a definite favourite amongst the community and a wonderful throwback to entertainment and dining. Tuesdays now feature live blues and funk from the Steve Kozak Trio.
If art and design is your thing, then you’d best head to the new temporary Motto Storefront by Vancouver’s Artspeak Gallery.
